Kassinger Development Group and Pulliam Properties are
breaking ground today for their latest development in the South
Asheville area. Response to the availability of upscale 'green'
condominiums and a commercial section of retail shops has been
incredibly strong through the initial reservation process, and
developers expect the Phase 1 sales release to go very quickly. The
overall interest in Weirbridge Village proves that the
local Asheville real estate market remains strong despite the slow-down
in markets across the country and demand is especially strong for
environmentally-friendly construction projects locally.
"When we undertook the development of Weirbridge Village, one
goal was to lead the way in green building in the Asheville area and
set a standard for this type of building locally," said Chip Kassinger

Weirbridge Village is one of the largest registered
residential LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)
projects in the country setting the City of Asheville at the forefront
of the green building movement. The developers will incorporate design
features identified in the City's Smart Growth Policy and are working
towards achieving Gold LEED certification, the second highest ranking
for the nationally recognized standard in sustainable building. By
achieving this voluntary certification, the homes in Weirbridge Village
will be healthier, more comfortable and use less energy while at the
same time having a reduced impact on the surrounding neighborhood.
All buildings will be constructed of quality materials that
promote green- building. The community will feature energy efficient
plumbing and lighting, gutter systems that divert water for irrigation
and controlled access under building parking to conserve green space.
Weirbridge Village will be located at the foot of the Blue
Ridge Parkway nestled off Racquet Club Road in South Asheville within
walking distance of shopping, restaurants and medical facilities and
located next door to the Asheville Racquet and Fitness Club. The
property will feature 1, 2 and 3 bedroom luxury condominiums starting
in the $200's and offer amenities such as a clubhouse, indoor pool,
fitness facilities and winding sidewalks.
