ASBA Honors Seven Sports Facilities with Mondo Surfaces for Merit in Construction

Seven sports facilities with the floor surfaces created by Mondo, a pioneer in the contract flooring and sports markets, have been honored for the second successive year by the American Sports Builders Association for its superiority in sports facility construction.

ASBA is a national firm for designers, constructors, and suppliers of materials for athletic facilities. Every year, it presents awards to the newly constructed and renovated athletics facilities of the U.S by ASBA members. Projects were analyzed by a jury of ASBA members considering the innovation, base construction, site work, layout and design, drainage, surface, amenities, and overall impression. The cumulative scores of winners accomplish or surpass ASBA standards.

The winning facilities with Mondo surfaces include high schools, universities and a community sports complex, in which one venue will be honored as the ‘Facility of the Year’ in its category.

The vice president of Mondo Group’s strategic development Federico Stroppiana says that throughout the 60 years of the company’s operation, Mondo has always been committed to creating reliable, efficient and durable sports surfaces that accomplishes the complex quality standards of the industry, which has been demonstrated with the distinguished quality of their construction.

ASBA, in each award category, selects the exceptional venue, which was awarded to the University of Findlay's Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex, Ohio, for its Indoor Multi-Purpose Facility division. This prestigious facility installed Mondo's Advance for its multipurpose courts, Sportflex surface for its track, and Sport Impact and Inlaid Platforms for its weight room.
