Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Starts Construction of New Outlet Center in Arizona

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers has declared the commencement of construction on its Tanger Outlet Center Westgate located in Glendale, Arizona.

The new outlet center’s first phase spanning 328,000 sq ft is being constructed on a 38-ac site at Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue in Western Phoenix. This site is situated nearby The Renaissance Glendale Hotel and Spa, Cabela's, University of Phoenix Stadium, Jobing.com Arena Westgate City Center. The first phase of the upscale outlet center is expected to house some 85 brand name outlet shops at the time of opening. The state-of-the-art design will have a pedestrian friendly layout, which will act as an open-air mall featuring covered and uncovered landscaped courtyards as well as a park-like scenario across the complex. The new Tanger Outlet Center Westgate will generate 700 to 800 construction jobs and 900 part- and full-time retail jobs after completion.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers has scheduled a formal ground breaking ceremony in the weeks to come. In this event, the company will announce the timeline for the project and names of some of the designer outlets and brands to be opened at this center.

The President and Chief Executive Officer at Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Steven B. Tanger commented that the company is happy to start construction of its new outlet center in the dynamic Phoenix market. Glendale City Manager, Ed Beasley commented that this new outlet center in Glendale means opportunities for new jobs and brand name shopping for locals and tourists and a boost to the city’s tax revenue.
