Granite Waste Recycled into Green Building Products

Granivations, which is a sister company of Waste to Valuestone focuses on conducting research and providing educational support in reducing granite waste and converting them into green building products.

The owner of Waste to Valuestone Louwrens Mulder has invented a new tool called the Tomahawk Stone Splitter that cuts pieces of waste granite into products that can be used for other applications such as cladding fireplaces and walls, paving, garden landscaping and for back splashes in the kitchen.

Companies that fabricate stone produce a lot of granite waste particularly during the processes of creating and installing granite products. These companies pay other companies to help them in clearing the granite waste from their facilities. The Tomahawk Stone Splitter provides various options to designers who use natural stones in their constructions. The final products that are created use Gran-adhesive, which is also one of the latest innovations of Granivations. The products created by Waste to Valuestone will add LEED points to green building projects and provide guidance to those that want to start a business by converting granite waste into green building projects. The company also focuses on making products that do not require much maintenance, are sustainable and add aesthetics to the building from granite waste.
