Building professionals from 24 states and 63 communities will participate in this year’s Home Builders Blitz organised by Habitat for Humanity.
Under this year’s event home, builders will collaborate with 80 affiliates of Habitat for Humanity for the construction, renovation and repair of 204 homes.
Through the partnership, the affiliates and professionals will work on all aspects of construction such as sourcing of contractors and suppliers, raising funds and sourcing of materials. The event will be inaugurated by the former host of the TV shows Renovation Nation and This Old House, Steve Thomas who will travel to work sites of Home Builders Blitz and help address housing issues of the community.
This year Home Builders Blitz will focus on creating awareness amongst home owners. The first national level Home Builders Blitz was launched during the year 2006 with the second one held in the year 2008. From the time this event has been launched, a total of 862 homes have been constructed as part of the initiative.
Sponsors for this year’s event include Larson, Hunter and Douglas, Masco, Yale Locks & Hardware, Tapco Group and Royal Building Products.
