DOW POWERHOUSE has successfully installed their DOW POWERHOUSE Solar Shingle roof system for a family in San Antonio.
The first POWERHOUSE system was developed by Dow Chemical Company in 2011 as part of a contest for employees. The roof system was connected below the roof for Ross Electric Company. The family for which this installation was done was able to witness the installation directly after which it was decided that they would require the complete residential roofing solution offered by the company.
Authorised dealer of DOW POWERHOUSE Solar System, Beldon Roofing Company worked in close collaboration with the family in the designing of the solar array that would be compliant with the energy saving targets and budgets of the family and at the same time had functional design and usage. The solar roof system includes an array of shingles that have been custom designed according to the home owner’s budget, design requirement and energy goals. It also consists of an AC-DC inverter that not only fulfils the power needs of the house but also returns power to the power grid. Energy production and generation can be measured through a monitoring system which can be accessed by any internet connection. The roofing system has received seven performance and safety certifications and can work efficiently under heavy hail and wind.
