Developers Williams/Dame & Associates and American Life Incorporated have commenced construction of the $172 million hotel project in central Los Angeles.

The hotel is expected to be inaugurated in the summer of 2014. The overall project covers a total area of 373,000 sq. ft. which will include a 23 story, 174 room courtyard by Marriott and a 218 room Residence Inn by Marriott. The Residence Inn will include 11,754 sq. ft. for meeting facilities and 5,100 sq. ft. for restaurants.

The construction work is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs and contribute significantly towards the local economy in terms of business and tourism. The hotels will be located in the corner of Olympic Boulevard and Francisco Street next to L.A. LIVE. This facility spans an area of 4 million sq. ft. for residential, sports and entertainment purposes. Both the hotels will be managed by Marriott International and the project is being constructed by SODO Builders LA with Portland’s GBD Architects and interior design by Degen & Degen from Seattle. Structural engineering is provided by DCI.

While Marriott will offer a national brand of long stay and select service venue at a very close distance from Los Angeles Convention Centre, the Residence Inn will provide a wide range of options to families in terms of prices and the diversity of guests checking in.
