Multifamily developer, Wood Partners has started construction of a 246-unit apartment complex called Perimeter Lofts on a 10.6-acre site at 10110 Perimeter Parkway in the Northlake area of Charlotte.

The apartment community will feature 6 carriage buildings and 2 four-story buildings. The multifamily complex will be a combination of lofts, carriages, flats and direct access ‘brownstone’ units. Leasing is anticipated to be started in January 2013 and construction is slated for completion by July 2013.

Perimeter Lofts is situated close to Northlake Mall, an enclosed mall in Charlotte comprising AMC Theatres, Dick's Sporting Goods, Dillard’s, Macy’s, and Belk as anchor tenants. It is also located near to over 900,000 sq. ft of retail stores, which include PetSmart, Best Buy, REI, Super Target and several restaurants.

The apartment complex can be seen from I-77 and is located only a few blocks away from the I-485 outer loop, thus having accessibility to uptown Charlotte, the largest employment center of the city. The complex will also have amenities such as a salt water pool with grilling areas and outdoor cabanas, a fitness center, movie and game room, an integrated clubhouse featuring cyber cafe, pet spa, dog park, and car care center. The project’s architect is Geheber Lewis Associates and the general contractor is WP East Builders.

Wood Partners’ Director, Carter Siegel stated that even though the community is located less than 12 minutes from uptown Charlotte and close to more than three million square feet of retail and restaurants, its residents will still enjoy a resort-like atmosphere formed by the two linked courtyards with an oversized pool area as well as numerous pocket parks and lawns.
