The City of Charleston in South Carolina has awarded a $110 million contract to a joint venture between Skanska and Trident Construction to provide new construction and renovation services at the Gaillard Municipal Auditorium.

Skanska accounts for a 70% share in the contract, translating into roughly $77 million, which will be added to order bookings of Skanska USA Building for Q3 of fiscal year 2012. The Gaillard Center project includes a multi-purpose auditorium featuring 1,800 seats, a exhibit hall spanning 3,600 m2 and a new three-floor municipal office building measuring 7,500 m2 for city employees.
