USAA Real Estate has commenced the construction of The Residences at La Cantera. The luxury, city-style residential venture includes 323 Class A multi-family apartments and 4000 sq. ft. of retail area for amenities.
The project situated at 6215 Via La Cantera occupies 5 ac next to The Shops at La Cantera in San Antonio, Texas. The venture is the third that is being undertaken in collaboration with the Cambridge Development Group from Houston.
The Residences at La Cantera is the first stage of the varied-use, multiple-phase development at the Town Center at La Cantera. The first stage will also entail a 3-ac park, which will include a lively urban plaza, lawns, adventure play space, a pond and picnic spaces sheltered by oak trees. A tank built next to the pond will save the spill-over water from the buildings to sustain the pond and irrigate the park. The future stages will comprise office, hotel, more multiple-family and amenity retail units. The Residences will include studio to three-bedroom floor space designs of 553-1785 sq. ft., with interiors embellished with hardwood floors, stone countertops, spacious baths, etc. The communal areas will include an extensive clubhouse with a cyber cafe, a resort-style pool and Jacuzzi, fitness lounge and yoga space, fire pit, roof terrace and complete outdoor kitchen.
The Town Center will be linked to a framework of San Antonio-area trails connecting city parks and the well-maintained green areas linked to Leon Creek Hike & Bike Trail in the pipeline for the city. The Residences will abide by green building standards and will be accessible via Interstate 10 and Loop 1604 and will be proximal to the Westin La Cantera Resort and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.
