Super Eco Friendly Building For Manchester

It is 10 storeys high, covered in green render, shaped like a drum, has solar panels on the roof and is topped with a wind turbine. The aptly named “Green Building” currently under construction in Manchester’s Macintosh Village is a mixture of one and two bedroom super eco friendly apartments.

Construction materials specified in the building have been selected according to their positive environmental status and the building has already been given an EcoHomes rating of "excellent".

The developers, Taylor Woodrow, report that although not due for completion until next summer, buyers are saying that they are impressed with the scheme's green features as well as its location, only a 10-minute walk from the city centre. They also is hope that the project will become the first of a series and the Green Building model will be used at a site in London and other urban regeneration sites.
