Published on January 11, 2013 at 6:15 AM

Balfour Beatty Communities, LLC (BBC), a leading provider of property management, development and related real estate services for the multifamily, military and student housing markets, announced the Professional Housing Management Association (PHMA) has named its team and their Navy partners at Naval Weapons Station Charleston as the 2012 US Navy Outstanding Housing Team—Privatized Location, and Balfour Beatty Communities employee Jesse Hopkins, a maintenance supervisor at Naval Air Station Key West, as the 2012 Outstanding Housing Employee for Public Private Ventures.

PHMA is a leading military housing industry association dedicated to helping housing professionals and their organizations improve and innovate through communications and networking, education and training, certification, and professional recognition. A leading provider of housing services to the Army, Navy and Air Force, Balfour Beatty Communities is responsible for all privatized family housing at 47 installations across the US, including NWS Charleston in South Carolina and NAS Key West in Florida.

“These awards exemplify Balfour Beatty Communities’ commitment to resident satisfaction through customer service excellence,” said Christopher Williams, President of Balfour Beatty Communities. “This is a significant achievement for our employees and they should be honored by the recognition. It’s truly rewarding when our work to deliver quality living environments for military families is acknowledged by the industry.”

PHMA’s Outstanding Housing Team—Privatized Location Award is presented to military installation teams (defined as having both federal and contractor/partners) that demonstrate achievement of an outstanding living environment for military members and/or their families. The Outstanding Housing/Billeting Employee Award is presented to a member of an organization engaged in directing or managing military housing, housing support or oversight functions.
