Human Behaviour And Fire Protection

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers has released a new guidebook that identifies the key factors that impact the behaviour of occupants evacuating a building during a fire. The anticipation of human behaviour and prediction of human response to cues, such as fire alarm signals, is one of the most complex areas of fire protection engineering.

The SFPE “Engineering Guide to Human Behavior” in fire is available directly from the SFPE.
