USGBC Awards LEED Platinum Certification to Bureau Veritas Product Test Lab in Sri Lanka

Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services is pleased to announce its laboratory in Sri Lanka has become the first Product Testing Laboratory in Sri Lanka, and the first entity within the Bureau Veritas Group, to be certified as LEED Platinum by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Following the recent LEED Gold certifications awarded for the Hong Kong Head Office, Singapore laboratory, and Noida laboratory in India, this is the most prestigious award to date, being the 1st Platinum certified laboratory within the Consumer Products Services division and the first location within the Bureau Veritas Group to be certified at Platinum.

Recently relocated to Katubedda, Sri Lanka, the laboratory is staffed with over 200 employees and occupies more than 36,000 square feet supporting the testing needs of consumer goods manufacturers and exporters in the area. Bureau Veritas excelled in many of the categories including full marks in terms of water use reduction, green power, efficient lighting, controls & HVAC System, building design simulated using eQuest and indoor air quality. Another of the successes was in the use of low-emitting materials such as adhesives and sealants, paints, coatings and flooring systems.
