The Weitz Company Gets Bluebeam eXtreme Award for Insight On-Site Project Station

The Weitz Company, a leading national design and construction firm, received the Bluebeam eXtreme (bXa) award for its Insight On-Site project station during the 2015 Bluebeam eXtreme Conference held July 29-31, in Los Angeles, Calif.

According to conference host Bluebeam Software, the bXa awards program provides an opportunity for tech-savvy project teams to showcase how they are leveraging Bluebeam solutions to work smarter and without limits. The 2015 submissions competed within five categories for two awards: a bXa, which recognizes, “the ultimate eXtreme project,” and an Award of Excellence.

Weitz innovates to share Insight, On-Site
Typically filled with the equipment and tools needed to self-perform the installation of material and equipment on industrial construction projects, The Weitz Company converted a former millwright trailer to create the Weitz “Insight On-Site” digital collaboration center. The space includes a digital plan table with two 48-inch televisions featuring the Weitz project dashboard via Bluebeam Revu. This resource for foreman and workers on jobsites allows all to access drawings, specs, submittals, last planner weekly work plans and other critical project information. From the digital plan table, the team can print any document needed to perform work. Project documents can also be pulled on demand using a tablet via the Bluebeam app.

“The Weitz Company often builds Industrial projects in remote locations, where providing team members with updated information and design changes can be difficult,” said Karmyn Babcock, vice president of Operational Excellence, The Weitz Company. “The Weitz Insight On-Site project station allows our team to be more agile and react to design changes and owner modifications much quicker and with less cost. Using Bluebeam Revu assures our project team members are building from the most accurate information and plans, which increases value for our clients.”

The Weitz Insight On-Site project stations are being used on projects across the United States.
