ABB, the leading power and
automation technology group, has received an order worth about $15 million which
includes an extension of about $2 million as the main contractor for the supply
of network management systems for the national control center of Moldova.
ABB will supply a state of the art Network Manager SCADA/EMS system for monitoring
and control of the national power network, remote terminal units for data acquisition,
telecommunications as well as metering systems. The system is based on Linux.
The company will also support detailed engineering design and commissioning
of the entire system.
This project demonstrates our ability to deliver complete turnkey systems
in partnership with other leading suppliers, said Karl Elfstadius, head
of ABBs business unit Network Management. This will provide our
customer Moldeletrica a solid foundation to ensure a reliable power supply for
the whole nation.

network management and a track record of more than 500 successful projects around
the world. The Moldelectrica project will be completed through close cooperation
between ABB, Moldelectrica and other sub suppliers in late 2009.
