Record Number of Concrete Paver Installers Certified by ICPI

Since the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute's (ICPI) Level I Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program inception in 1996, a record number of concrete paver installers have been certified through ICPI. In fiscal year 2006-07, ICPI held 116 certification courses and certified 3,269 installers, representing a 34% increase over the previous year. The total number of ICPI Level I Certified Concrete Paver Installers is now a record 13,160 in North America. The ICPI Level I Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program is designed to increase the knowledge of individuals involved in the construction and installation of interlocking concrete pavements. The knowledge that installers gain while earning certification provides them the basic tools to assist in eliminating costly call backs; meeting customer, designer and specifier expectations and distinguishing them from the competition.

"Homeowners have come to expect quality installations from installers. The record number of ICPI Level I Certified Concrete Paver Installers demonstrates the industry's commitment to ensuring quality professional installations of interlocking concrete pavers," said ICPI Chairman Joe Bowen.

Upon successful completion of the two-day ICPI Level I Concrete Paver Installer Certification Program, newly certified installers receive a certificate of completion. After certification, ICPI promotes continuing education, technical literature and guide specifications to installers.
