Flax insulation

The first ever contract to supply high performance flax thermal insulation as part of Groundwork Bridgend & Neath, Port Talbot's Natural Fibre Insulation Grant Scheme has been won by Natural Building Technologies (NBT).

The contract is for the supply of insulation for a new bungalow development in Brynaman and provides an ecologically sound way for tenants to save on their heating bills.

NBT flax insulation can be used in loft spaces, within walls and under floors. It has a thermal conductivity of just 0.037W/mK which offers a higher insulation value that traditional mineral wool and class fibre insulants. It is also non-itchy, offers fire protection, good sound absorbance and the ability to absorb and release moisture without significant loss of insulation.
