Acoustic Insulation Of Facades To Airborne Noise: Design And Reality

Summary

Results of in-situ measurements of the airborne noise insulation of house facades are presented.  The results are compared with values calculated in accordance with NBE-CA-88.  Masonry panels were constructed which consisted of an external leaf of perforated ceramic brick, an air chamber and an internal leaf consisting of a hollow brick wall.  The influence of the shape of the hollows used in the  hollow bricks, the type and thickness of glass, joinery work, practicality, etc., on the airborne noise insulation of the facades was studied.  Abstract only.
