Valentin flooring is a traditional building material, consisting of handcrafted tiles made of special clays, produced in Valentin, a small town in Murcia. The product range includes solid ceramic bricks, curved roofing tiles, floor tiles and special pieces, mainly for use in facades, as a facing brick, and in decorative claddings and rustic flooring, as well as in other decorative work, both interior and exterior (including building restoration or conservation). The manufacturing process (stockpiling, mixing and drying of the clay; kneading; discharging the clay onto a wooden frame; drying of the hand-shaped product; firing in a Moorish kiln; curing in a water tank using slaked lime) and quality control are outlined and illustrated.
