Two brief articles - 1) Roper I, Notes that while the UK air conditioning market is expected to decrease slightly next year, the chilled water fan coil sector is predicted to rise. Analyses the reasons behind this trend and explains the benefits offered by fan coils, 2) Eastwell A, Explains why the performance figures for fan coil units quoted by certification schemes may not be all that they appear to be. Notes that BS EN 1397 measures the heating and cooling duty with only one of the coils live, excluding the possibility of internal heat transfer between the hot and cold coils. Notes that BSRIA can test fan coil units to British, European and Eurovent standards and presents a schematic of the BSRIA test rig for fan coil units.
