Calculating pressure drops in piping systems


States that calculating pressure drops in piping systems using the Darcy-Weisbach equation requires the friction factor to be calculated.  The traditional approach requires the Moody Diagram to solve the Colebrook Equation.  Presents a spreadsheet approach to pressure drop calculations as an alternative to using a Moody Diagram, tables or graphs.  States that the advantages of such an approach relate to the ability to match conditions being designed for and the ability to calculate the friction factor more accurately than can be done using a Moody Diagram.
