Code of Best Practice for the Use of Aircrete Products

Summary

Guidance is given for the design of aircrete blockwork, including jointing mortars, finishes, fixings, movement joints and recommended site practices. The code contains seven chapters: introduction; project planning; properties, including acoustic, permeability, chemical, thermal, and dimensional; design issues, including acoustic insulation, thermal insulation, durability, fire resistance, moisture resistance, structural performance, movement and finishes; specifications; procurement processes; and construction. The guide is compiled by Aircrete manufacturers in compliance with Building Regulations. 39 refs.
