Self humidity control materials


A self humidity control material for the inner walls of modern air-tight houses, based on the concept of Kelvin's capillary condensation theory, has been developed.  Experimental results of the DSC measurement, the nanosized pore diameter distribution and water vapour adsorption-desorption support the concept that allophane is a suitable material.  The material is sold commercially as tiles in Japan.  It has shown excellent humidity control ability.  6 refs.
