The fire resistance performance of an innovative composite panel system, the profiled steel sheet dry board (PSSDB) system, is investigated. Four different floor panel samples with various infill and surface treatment materials were tested under load-bearing conditions, according to BS476: Part 21. Results show that the PSSDB system possesses good fire resistance performance. Among the tested samples, the panel filled and covered by normal concrete was shown to have the best fire resistance performance.
The main components of the PSSDB system are profiled steel sheeting and Cemboard, a type of cement board manufactured by Hume Cemboard Berhad Malaysia, attached to each other by self-drilling, self-tapping screws. 12 refs.
