EC1: Part 1.1: Densities, self-weight, imposed loads for buildings

Summary

BS EN 1991-1-1 is the English language version section of Eurocode 1, which provides guidance for the design of buildings and civil engineering works. A UK National Annex has been developed at BRE. EC1-1-1 will coexist with conflicting British Standards, after which the British standards will be withdrawn ( scheduled to be no later than March 2010 ). Floor and roof areas in buildings are categorised according to use, with loads being classified as: uniformly distributed, concentrated, line, or combinations of these. Heavy equipment is specifically excluded. Characteristic imposed load values are given for 10 different categories of occupancy, and include uniformly distributed and concentrated loads. 3 refs.
