Heywood Williams Manufactures Own Wood-Filled PVC Window Boards

The Plastics and Rubber Weekly has reported that UK building plastics manufacturer Heywood Williams has begun to make its own wood-filled PVC window boards.

Forming problems delayed the launch after initial announcements were made last year, but the boards are now manufactured in Congleton, Cheshire, on standard extrusion machines, with tooling sourced in Italy.

The window boards are a 49% wood and 51% PVC composite that exhibits less thermal expansion and a better stiffness ratio than conventional PVC. Heywood Williams are planning to utilise the composite material in a range of products for both interior and exterior applications.
