With the upcoming revisions to Part L, airtightness is once again a hot topic for the construction industry.
To comply with the new regulations, and avoid the costly remedial work that failing an airtightness test entails, a building's envelope needs to be designed and constructed to be as airtight as possible. But do all architects and contractors know exactly how to achieve this?
BRE is holding a half-day training seminar on 29 June 2005 for architects and contractors on designing and building for airtightness. They will be guided through what has to be done and why, covering areas including how to design for airtightness, common problem areas, constructing an airtight building envelope, good workmanship and construction techniques.
Sessions will be run by BRE's airtightness specialists. The seminar costs £120 plus VAT, and delegates will receive a free copy of Airtightness in commercial and public buildings (retail value £50).
