BASF To Showcase Colorful Design-MDF At Leading Woodworking Tradeshow AWFS

BASF will showcase its advanced colorant technology for medium density fiberboard (MDF) at the Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) 2005 Fair, July 27-30, in Las Vegas.

Color-through MDF, also known as Design-MDF, provides aesthetic properties impossible to achieve with conventional MDF panels. At the same time, BASF colorant technology enables Design-MDF panels to retain the mechanical properties of conventional MDF panels.

“BASF expertise in colorants and glues enables composite panel manufacturers to create Design-MDF panels that can be cut, routed and shaped to create interesting effects of depth while eliminating the need for protective laminates,” said Christopher Valovic, Technical Advisor for BASF in North America. “These intensely through-colored panels can then be used in furniture, exhibits, retail displays, doors and architectural trim to create exciting new looks that also require little to no maintenance.”

BASF will be presenting its Design-MDF colorant technology and new sample kits at Booth #13168. The AWFS Fair provides the largest exhibition of woodworking machinery, hardware, board and panel products, upholstery material, wood components, supplies, services and new technologies in North America.
