Cutting Costs With Cutting Edge Materials

The Austin Business Journal is reporting how some commercial construction companies, brokers and architects are alleviating the pinch of the downturn in the US economy by using building materials, systems and designs that reduce operational costs.

Some of the methods adopted include:

  • Using expanding foam insulation to fill all crevices and voids in the structure.
  • Tilt up concrete walls commonly used in warehouses are being used in the construction of office buildings.
  • Buildings constructed from aerated concrete to take advantage of its light weight and insulating properties.
