Deltec Introduces New Line of Affordable High Performance Net-Zero Homes

Deltec Homes, the industry leader in hurricane resistant and sustainable panelized home building, introduces their new line of affordable high performance and net-zero homes, the Renew Collection.

Known as "the original green builder," the Asheville-based company's new home collection is designed to reduce energy consumption by two-thirds in comparison to an average home. The remaining one-third can by powered with renewable energy, making yearly energy use net-zero.

With an average price of $250,000-$350,000, including the net-zero features, these innovative homes also boast affordability and a seamless building process.

"Building to this degree of efficiency requires a lot of research. We've done all of that for you," said Steve Linton, president of Deltec Homes and LEED accredited professional. "We've made it easier than ever to build an incredibly sustainable home and will ship it to your jobsite, anywhere in the world, to be assembled by your local builder."

For years, Deltec customers have had the option to build to this level of efficiency, but with the Renew Collection, it comes standard.

"We've taken the most aggressive energy efficient options that we offer in our Deltec homes and made them standard for the Renew Collection," Linton added. "For instance, they'll all be air-tight, offer opportunity for passive solar and have insulation values more than double code requirements."

The six-home collection came as a result of growing demand for net-zero homes and is comprised of three circular designs for which Deltec Homes is best known and three conventional structures, all of which offer comfort and livability.

"These designs aim to hit the most cost-sensible energy efficiency strategies without sacrificing on comfort," said Leigha Dickens, green building coordinator. "Achieving such a high level of sustainability doesn't mean living in a tiny, confined house."

Further, the collection accomplishes the company goal to look at sustainable homebuilding in a different way.

"We always hear about decreasing the environmental footprint, but less bad is still bad," said Dickens. "We wanted to produce something that gives back to the environment. This collection does that by creating as much energy as needed through clean, renewable energy."
