Environmentally Responsible Residential High-rise

The Solaire, the USA’s first environmentally responsible residential high-rise building, was unveiled last Friday, September 5, in Manhattan.

The 27 storey building relies on a concrete construction system to provide its durability, energy efficiency and the use of recycled materials to give its environmental and sustainable characteristics. Compared with typical residential buildings, The Solaire consumes 35% less energy, reduces peak demand for electricity by 65%, utilizes 50% less potable water, provides its residents with healthier air quality and substantially more natural light.
