Through their construction and mining subsidiary Knife River Corp, MDU Resources have acquired Atlas Inc and Pioneer Construction, Inc. While precise details of both deals were not disclosed, they were known to involve cash and stocks.
Atlas Inc, headquartered in Bismarck, North Dakota, USA are a privately owned leading regional ready mix and concrete construction company. They have operations in Bismarck, Washburn, Stanton and Beulah, North Dakota.
Pioneer Construction Inc is a privately owned aggregate company headquartered in Mandan, North Dakota. The mine and own aggregate reserves in North and South Dakota supplying sand and gravel to commercial and residential customers.
The two companies will continue to operate under the same management and will retain their own identities. Knife River, a leading construction materials supplier operating in 7 states of the USA, will use the acquisitions to expand their operations into North Dakota.
