Clement Windows Group Launches New Part L Steel Window

Initial concerns over the tightening of Part L of the building regulations (Heat loss through buildings) have been alleviated by the recent launch of what is possibly the world’s first Part L compliant steel window, the EB24 range, by the Clement Windows Group.

This breakthrough will ensure that the UK’s standard steel windows in private dwellings can be replaced without the introduction of alternative and often inappropriate window systems such as PVCu. The window uses a 24mm double glazed unit comprised of 2 pieces of 4mm glass, one with a ‘soft coat’ and a 16mm argon gas filled cavity.

Since the announcement of the new regulations, the race has been on to develop a window system for dwellings that not only complies with the new environmental standards but also is visually stunning. The EB24 range offers a real alternative to contractors and specifiers for both new build and refurbishment projects, where the desired look is that of the elegance and style that only steel can provide.
