Non-Military Use of Fiberglass Armor Panels

The US Military has procured many thousands of HS Armor Panels from Strongwell. However, Strongwell also supplies its fiberglass armor panels for use in a myriad of non-military market applications. For instance, a Georgia public defender’s office features Strongwell’s HS Armor Panels (Figure 1).

Advantages of Strongwell’s HS Armor Panels

According to Flint River Materials, a supplier of Strongwell HS Armor panels, installation of the panels was conveniently performed by the contractors. Panels were hung and mounted like drywall and finished with a drywall compound.

The smooth wall surface texture was achieved by sanding and painting. In contrast to the installation of standard drywalls, the added security was achieved with little to no extra effort.
