Pipeslice Is An Industry Winner

Kopex International's Pipeslice, the highly innovative and popular tool which makes copper pipe-cutting simple, has won a top industry award. At the inaugural CORGI Awards – the ‘Oscars' of the gas industry.

Pipeslice scooped the trophy, winning the accolade “Special Award for Innovation”.

The company received the award before more than 500 industry guests at a glittering ceremony held during the Installer Live event on June 4 2005, at the International Centre in Telford. Pipeslice was recognised for its innovative approach to providing a time- and effort-saving solution to a simple task which installers face on a day-to-day basis: cutting copper piping.

With a simple twist of the wrist the automatically adjusting tool provides a clean cut-through for various sizes of copper piping – ideal for professional heating, ventilation and gas installers as well as plumbers and the DIY trade.

Indeed, Pipeslice has received wide recognition in the media throughout 2004-5 and demand for the product continues to grow. Users prefer the easy and quick action, the consistency of cut and the freedom from burrs compared with traditional pipe cutters.

The success at the CORGI ‘Oscars' represents the ultimate achievement. The award is of particular interest because it was made in a special category.

Managing director, David Ward, comments; “Originally placed in one of ten of the published categories, the judges were so impressed with the product that they created a new award just for Pipeslice.”
