LandWorks Center to Incorporate Comfortable Working Environ
The proposed LandWorks Center in Fishkill, New York, an inspiration of Dr. Kenneth Hansraj, Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon, will utilize high performing glass, steel and Douglas fir to achieve LEED Platinum energy efficiency status.
LandWorks Center
The LandWorks Center is planned to provide utmost comfort to the human beings working in the facility. The designed daylight harvesting system will allow the entry of more sunlight without a trace of glare. The operable type of windows will allow entry of fresh outside air and other relaxing sounds of nature. The proposed 11 feet high performance glass will enable better reach with nature. The occupants of the building can adjust the supply of fresh air, airflow and temperature supplied by the pressurized under-floor enclosures. The air over the floor space will be maintained at a normal level for easy healthier breathing.
The proposed raised level type of flooring systems is designed to reduce the costs of furniture required by the systems and the installation of voice and data cabling prices by 15 to 25%, reorganizing and relocation of people within the building will save around 80%. The building will save from $9 to $14 per square foot on yearly operational costs, which results in 50-60% energy savings. The building will utilize 0.6 to 0.7 watts light per square foot instead of 1.5 to 1.8 watts per square foot usage in conventional type of buildings.
