BASF Exhibits New Products at the AIA National Convention and Design Exposition

BASF, a company that supplies innovative chemical products for use in the building industry, has showcased its products in the AIA National Convention and Design Exposition held at the New Orleans, LA, located Ernest N. Morial Convention Center from 12 to14 May. Some of the products displayed at the exposition include Green Sense Concrete, NeoProTK Insulating Sheathing, Enershield Air and Moisture Resistant Barriers and NyloDeck.

The Green Sense Concrete incorporates the mixture proportioning know-how of BASF with a most desirable mix of recycled materials and ready-made chemical admixtures required to improve the sturdiness, potency and fast solidifying attributes of concrete. The NeoProTK Insulating Sheathing incorporates Neopor graphite beads of BASF and NeoProTK from Perma “R” Products to provide a tough insulation using closed-cell expanded Polystyrene (EPS). The thermal attributes of Neopor improves the insulation properties of the sheathing by around 20% thus making it an ENERGY STAR rated product that does not discharge harmful chemicals and formaldehyde. The insulating sheathing also includes Preventol preservation insecticide, an eco-friendly preservative that defies and kills the termites inside.

The Enershield Air and Moisture Resistant Barriers from BASF are used as a protective coating at the back of the cladding materials and meet the requirements of a number of water drainage EIFS architecture. The product when combined with a sheathing fabric can be used to fill gaps in windows. The product line provides protection against moisture and leakages in a building. The NyloDeck from Nyloboard is manufactured utilizing 100% reused carpet fibers and Elastopor rigid polyurethane foam of BASF. The material utilized for decking does not contain wood or wood products. The light weight product prevents formation of mold and moisture and resists subterraneantermites.
