Alcoa Architectural Products Releases Aluminum Cladding with EcoClean Coating
Alcoa Architectural Products has declared the introduction of a new aluminum cladding panel made of Reynobond or Reynolux with EcoClean coating. The panel is designed with features for self cleaning and cleaning the air surrounding it.
The aluminum cladding incorporates a light-sensitive titanium dioxide (EcoClean) coating, which performs the role of a catalyst even during low humid conditions. Over the exterior, the electrons discharged by the UV light form groups to break down particles of dirt and organic substances. Simultaneously it forms a superhydrophilic (water-attracting) smooth surface, even small quantity of rain or dew removes the substances that are already broken down by sliding them off the building, thus leaving the façade clean.
The manufacturing process of the self cleaning panel requires more procedures thus there is a slight increase of 1.5% to 5% in the product price. The product can be installed like any other conventional cladding product without extra efforts. Considering the life time of the building, use of Reynobond or Reynolux cladding coated with EcoClean works out to be more economical.
The new Reynobond or Reynolux with EcoClean cladding of 1,000 m² in size will clean the smog that can be cleaned by around 80 trees, which can be equated to stopping the carbon discharges from four cars every day.
