PPG Launches Online Digital Architectural Glass Binder for Green Buildings

PPG Industries has declared digitalized format of its architectural glass binder which can be downloaded from http://corporate.ppg.com/Home.aspx. The binder is used as a fixture in architect offices and libraries.

The Director of construction, flat glass in PPG, Glenn T. Miner stated that the digitalization of the binder, which includes the specification of the PPG glass in a printable format, shows the company’s dedication towards green buildings.

Miner said that for a long time the company has dedicated a major part of its research and development potential for the design of products that will support eco-friendly buildings. The fact that the glass binder specifications are available digitally ensures that the energy, ink and paper associated with printing is eliminated. The architects can access the online tool using a mobile device or a computer.

Normally, the products of PPG like SUNGATE. STARPHIRE and SOLARBAN glasses contain product catalogs, performance data and data sheets. Additionally, this digitalized binder consists of thermal stress information, analysis of wind load, entire specifications for products as well as technical documents.

This binder is an entrance to the expansion of the company’s electronic specification tools that includes a searchable project library tool consisting of many photos for product application, architectural glass performance calculator and Architectural glass configurator.

In addition, the sourcing information of the participants in PPG CFP CERTIFIED FABRICATOR PROGRAM(TM), many building profiles and downloadable white papers are available in the binder. Information of the company’s architectural coatings including PPG PITTSBURGH PAINTS, CORAFLON and DURANAR can also be obtained using the binder.
