Building Systems Honoured At Paris Exhibition

Hydro Building Systems has won two prestigious prizes and an honorable mention at the BATIMAT International Building Exhibition 2005 held this week at the Paris Expo.

"The prizes recognize our efforts to be innovative and ahead of the market," says Fernando Simoes Henriques, managing director of Hydro Building Systems France. "Our strategy is to make a difference in the market – through creativity and innovation. These awards reflect exactly what we’re trying to achieve in the marketplace."

The Innovation 2005, gold medal, Class II, for joinery, shutters and solar protection, went to Hydro Building Systems’s TEmotion façade product, marketed by Hydro under the Wicona brand name. TEmotion won for its "ready-to-lay double-skin façade system" and "autonomous energy production thanks to photovoltaic panels."

TEmotion consists of prefabricated modules that integrate a full range of functions for the user’s comfort. TEmotion also got honorable mention in the Innovative 2005, Class VII, for intelligent Design, for its "durability."

The Design trophy 2005, silver medal, Class II, for metal joinery, went to Hydro Building Systems’ Plans de Vie product, marketed by Hydro under the Technal brand name.

The Plans de Vie system won praise for its "living space system between house and garden whose tubular aluminium roof section and glass infill structure provides the basis of the living space."

The theme of BATIMAT 2005 is sustainable development, "an area that offers the construction industry considerable opportunities for progress and added value."
