Architect Chooses uPVC Windows For Sustainable Designs

Green Point Design is an Australian architectural firm based in the tourist town of Daylesford. They aim to integrate best practice in energy efficiency and materials into their sustainable building projects and regularly choose vinyl windows for these projects.

They find that the embodied energy, durability, and energy efficiency of materials in vinyl windows make them desirable for sustainable buildings.

Of course there are other options available to them such as aluminium or wood but sometimes forces beyond the control of man make them unsuitable. As an example, cedar windows are completely unsuitable in some areas as local cockatoos, (parrot like birds) will eat the wood.
