Lightscape Technologies Provides LED Lighting Solutions to New World Centre for Promotion of 2008 Olympics

Lightscape Technologies Inc., a provider of innovative lighting design solutions, advanced lighting products and customized energy management solutions, today announced that the company has provided LED lighting solutions to the New World Centre ("NWC") in Hong Kong for the promotion of the 2008 Olympics.

The NWC is an upscale multi-use complex situated on Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour. NWC features a gross floor area of approximately 2.5 million square feet, a 6-storey shopping mall, two office towers, a 518-room serviced apartment tower and a 543-room hotel. NWC's exterior facade features an LED lighting display from the 4th to 14th floors.

The project involved the installation of the Lightscape Multimedia and Video Show Control System at the NWC. Lightscape's system consists of PC-based software and LED controller hardware which enables the authoring, control and playback of intricate, large-scale lighting shows. The system is a fully integrated solution which combines various processors, video graphics decoders, solid state electronics and sophisticated built-in intelligence.

In addition, Lightscape's lighting design team authored the lighting shows to play on NWC's pre-existing LED lighting hardware on the building's exterior facade. The new lighting show content began to play on October 13, 2007 in conjunction with Hong Kong's ceremony to promote the 300-Day Countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. This content, which played for 10 days on the NWC facade from October 13-23, consisted of wording, graphics and patterns including the slogans "Hong Kong Riding High with Olympic Spirit" and "300 Days to Go for 2008 Olympics".

Bondy Tan, President and CEO of Lightscape Technologies commented, "Hong Kong, a co-host city of the 2008 Olympic Games, will be staging the Olympic equestrian events. The Hong Kong Tourism Board and the Economic and Trade Offices of the HKSAR Government have undertaken a campaign to dress-up Hong Kong to promote the Olympic spirit in the city and to promote Hong Kong as "Asia's World City."

Key to this campaign is a series of promotional events on dates of significance, such as the 300, 200 and 100-day countdowns to the Olympics. The primary medium for these promotional events are the facades of selected commercial buildings lining Victoria Harbour, including NWC, which incorporate Olympic promotional messages into their exterior lighting displays.

We are very pleased that NWC selected our Lightscape Multimedia and Video Show Control System for the authoring, control and playback of lighting shows on its 10-storey facade within this high-profile promotional event. With the successful results achieved during the 300-day Olympic countdown event, Lightscape is now designing additional lighting show content for NWC. These include lighting shows for the upcoming 200 and 100-day Olympic countdown events, as well as Christmas / Chinese New Year lighting shows which incorporate Olympic themes."

Concluded Mr. Tan, "Lightscape is constantly seeking out new opportunities to demonstrate the strengths of its LED lighting solutions, and we look forward to providing solutions to new clients within similar high-profile events in the future."
