Oxford Properties to Construct Office Tower at 1021 West Hastings

Oxford Properties, a group that is engaged in investing in commercial real estate, development and management, has declared that it will develop a new 35 storeyed and 270,000 ft² office tower at 1021 West Hastings.

Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) the architect firm has provided the design for the building. The proposed building will have the Marine Building and the Guinness Tower on its east and west sides respectively. The new construction will preserve the momentous club façade, a new contemporary entrance and a decorated public space will be linked to it.

The proposed 1021 construction will include all the energy saving features providing considerable level of savings and to improve the comfort within the building. The proposed VRF HVAC system will enable the building to be the first office tower to have energy conserving triple-paned glazing targeted to achieve LEED Gold Core and Shell certification. The building is located in an area that provides ready access to Helijet and seaplane, bus services, west coast express, skytrain and bike lanes. A number of good eateries, health and social clubs are located close to the building. The 1021also will have its own fitness gym, a new restaurant and a number of quality facilities.

Construction and development of 1021 West Hastings is a partnership effort between Oxford and co-investor CPPIB and Oxford will supervise all the development and management activities of the construction. The construction is anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2011 and is scheduled to get completed in the summer of 2014. Ledcor has been chosen as lead contractor for the construction.
