White Color - The Most Popular Choice for Front Doors in the UK

In a new research conducted by UK based designing and manufacturing company, Westbury Windows and Joinery it has been established that white is the most preferred color for customers in UK when it comes to front doors.

The second most popular colors are varnished and natural stained. Other colors which are also in business are Racing green, Oxford Blue, Duck Egg Blues, Post Box Red, Celadon greens and pale shades.

The report also provides tips to customers on how to choose the right color for the front door. The first tip is to invest. Customers are advised not to consider the budget part when it comes to choosing their front door as the front door requires good quality timber and finish in order to provide greater security. The next step is to choose the color itself. Generally it is suggested that customers go for traditional colors since they are most appealing. If customers live in a conservation area or a listed area, they are advised to consult with the governmental authorities to find out if they have permission to change the color of their front doors. Customers should also ensure that the front door receives three coats of paint so that it does not shrink, expand or rot. The furniture chosen for the door must be in line with the color that has been chosen. The style of the door needs to also be kept under consideration. While panel style doors give a modern touch, traditional doors fit almost everywhere. Lastly it is important for customers to maintain the door, which includes regular cleaning and repainting once in every 5 to 6 years.
