Old Televisions, New Floor Tiles

London Remade and the Nazeing Glass Works have just completed a recent trial to recycle old TV and computer screens into floor tiles.

Molten TV screen glass is poured into moulds to make non-slip glass floor tiles. The first batch of tiles are being used on the floor of the London Mayor’s new Assembly Building.

With TV screens and monitors accounting for around 30000 tonnes of waste glass each year, this equates to enough tiles to completely pave 15 football pitches.
