Designing Out Construction Waste - National Green Specification

The outcomes of the National Green Specification project, which has worked to facilitate the minimisation and management of construction and demolition waste, will be presented at a seminar at BRE, Watford on 12 December 2005.

Designing out waste in the first instance, and specifing recycled products where feasible, are key ways of minimising and managing construction and demolition waste. The DTI funded National Green Specification (NGS) has created specifications for recycled building products and workmanship clauses for waste management activities on construction and demolition sites. These will help designers and specifiers to make informed choices in terms of environmental protection, material resources, embodied energy, life expectancy and durability.

Those wishing to attend the National Green Specification seminar can book online at www.bre.co.uk/events
