Using a technique called “digital fire technology” PhotoCeramicArt in the US is now producing kiln-fired tiles with permanent photographic images on them.
The technology ensures that the tiles will withstand extreme temperatures, not fade or wear, are scratch resistant and they are impervious to oxidation. This presents huge opportunities for designers who can produce photographic projects with no size limitations. They’ve even produced a tiled swimming pool floor featuring an enormous shark photograph.
