While most homes have small passive vents to try and prevent the build up of attic heat and moisture, most cannot move enough air to be adequately effective. Most electric powered attic ventilators use a thermostat to turn them on but once temperatures have built up thermostat activated units are forced to play catch up with that built up heat. Other systems use a humidistat to measure moisture levels, but by the time humidity levels reach the activation level, condensation and moisture have already reached a critical point.
Solar Star attic fans from SolaTube are powered by the sun and work from sunup to sundown which means humidity and temperature levels never reach a critical point. The result is a properly ventilated attic that prolongs your roof life, lowers utility costs and makes the living environment more comfortable.
