Wilshire Homes is First Production Builder to Standardize IMPASSE® Termite Blocker

Wilshire Homes Houston division is the first production builder in the country to include IMPASSE® Termite Blocker as a standard feature in all of its new homes. The innovative new termite control product is the first pre-construction solution to prevent termite access at some of the most common entry points.

The Houston division of Wilshire Homes was formed this year and construction of its first homes started in early July at the Shadow Creek Ranch master-planned community. Each home features the premium termite protection of IMPASSE Termite Blockers, installed by Envirocon Termite & Pest, Inc.

“We pride ourselves on being the company that understands its customers better than any other homebuilder,” said Kim McDaniel, vice president of marketing & advertising, Wilshire Homes. “By making IMPASSE Termite Blockers standard in all of our Houston homes, we’re demonstrating to our customers that we care about them and the long-term safety of their homes.”

Austin-based Wilshire Homes has been building quality homes for Texas families for more than 10 years. In Houston, Wilshire Homes expects to build several hundred homes annually within a couple of years, all with the unsurpassed protection of IMPASSE Termite Blocker built right in.

Termites often use gaps along pipes in the slab foundation as highways into a home, but IMPASSE Termite Blocker targets the critical junctures of utility penetrations and bath trap areas to provide long-term protection from termite invasion.

IMPASSE Termite Blocker is made from a durable polymer with a specially formulated termiticide “locked in” between outer layers. There is virtually no release of termiticide into the environment, which prevents exposure to handlers and homebuyers and maintains product effectiveness over time.

Installed by an authorized pest management professional prior to the pouring of a home’s concrete slab, each IMPASSE Termite Blocker can be installed and tightly sealed in about one minute, so there is no interruption to the construction process. Once the concrete is poured, IMPASSE Termite Blockers become sealed in the foundation for an unprecedented level of termite protection.
